Planning a wedding can be as tricky as balancing a bold smokey eye with a bright red lip – it takes precision, focus, and a lot of skill to pull it off successfully. But fear not, Hollywood Brides is here to take the stress out of getting your locks and makeup on point for the big day.
Just a heads up, if you’re thinking of tying the knot on a Saturday between March and November, those slots tend to vanish quicker than a Bunnings Banger at a sausage sizzle! This way, we can make sure we nail the look you’re after and leave you feeling like a million bucks on your special day.

Bridal Trials
Time for your pre-wedding trial, the dress rehearsal for your hair and makeup on the big day. It’s like a test run to see if you can handle the glam without breaking a sweat. You’ll get to see if your chosen look makes you feel like a Princess or Princess Fiona from Shrek , and more importantly make any necessary tweaks so you don’t end up looking like a hot mess at the altar.
During the trial, make sure to wear something that resembles your wedding dress so you can see the full effect. Bring along any hair accessories or veils to make sure they don’t clash with your chosen hairstyle. And don’t forget to snap some pics from all angles – let’s make sure your good side is popping, after all.
We’ll also chat about a customised beauty plan to get your skin and hair in tip-top shape before the big day. We’re talking facials, hair treatments, the whole nine yards. And if you’re into spray tans, get one for the trial too – we need to make sure you don’t turn into a cheese dorito on your wedding day.
Have photos of hair and makeup looks that you like downloaded on your phone.
Allow at least a minimum of 2 hours for your trial however you will not be allowed to leave until you “love” your look!

How To Prepare For A Trial
Bring EVERYTHING! If you have hair jewellery, material samples or veils, you may like to bring them with you. If your wedding dress is white then consider wearing a white top to the trial with a similar neck line to the dress.
Please look at our Website & Social Platforms to see the kind of hair and makeup we do. That is our vibe so make sure you pick something within that aesthetic.
Hair Prep
Please wash your hair the night before and do not use any heavy leave in conditioners. If you have very oily hair you can wash it the morning before you come however please ensure that it is completely dry. For our naturally curly/afro hair beauties please use your usual soothing balms or anti frizz lotion and section each curl with your finger when it is wet. Don’t use a hard gel.
Bring clip in hair extensions or have permanent ones put in for the trial if you are getting them for the wedding day.
Skin Prep
Please exfoliate, cleanse and moisturise the day of the trial before you leave home. Dry or dead skin build up means that the foundation will not sit properly on the skin.
If you plan on having a spray tan, then please have a trial spray tan run 48hrs before the trial. We have seen many spray tan disasters over the years, you need to get this right as well.
Please no crazy full Russian Volume lash extensions as we will custom design a set of false lashes for everyone at the trial. Otherwise light Classic or Classic Hybrid Mixes are ok. If you would like us to apply false lashes please do not get a lash lift or perm, as it is difficult to apply lashes after these treatments.
Facial, brow waxing or threading & lash or brow tinting or lamination to be done 5 to 7 days out from the wedding trial. No closer in case you have a breakout, reaction, or product burn.
If any of the bridal party have sensitivities or allergies please let the stylists know. In extreme cases we would suggest that you provide your own moisturiser, foundation and mascara.
Pricing
Your trial cost is $250 which is to be paid on the day. If you would like to postpone your trial we require 72hours notice otherwise you will still be required to pay for your trial as we organise our appointments in advance. Trials can be anywhere from 2 to 3.5hrs depending on the hair and makeup style you choose. So please allow yourself enough time.
Touch Ups
Our stylists will advise you about the care and maintenance of your hair and makeup for your wedding day. Some styles will require spraying and pinning. To preserve your wedding day makeup and to help withstand all the crying and kissing, you will be required to have a powder and lipstick for touch-ups.
We currently have a SPECIAL DEAL – Hollywood Touch Up Kit – we will show you at the trial. Otherwise bring your own lippy if you have a favourite you want to use.

Stylists have the right to refuse service if a client presents with conjunctivitis or severe cold sores. Disposable applicators will be used on cold sores at the discretion of the stylist as it may or may not be appropriate. Our stylists also reserve the right to refuse service in the event a client presents with head lice or eggs and no refunds will be given.
