Hair and Makeup Trials

Hair and Makeup Trials Brisbane

First things first congratulations on your engagement! ✨
Your wedding day is one of the most photographed (and remembered) days of your life, so a trial is the perfect way to make sure your hair and makeup are everything you’ve dreamed of. Think of it as your dress rehearsal the chance to test out your look, fine-tune the details, and walk away feeling confident that everything will be flawless on the big day. It’s also the perfect opportunity to see if you and your stylist vibe as that is just as important.

Before you book a trial, we recommend checking out our socials. That’s where you’ll see our signature aesthetic and the types of looks we specialise in. Your trial will be much more successful if our style resonates with you and that way we’re starting from the same vision and can tailor it to you.
Trials are done on weekdays usually as weekends are for weddings.

During your trial, we’ll:
✨ Explore the style you have picked to see if it’s the perfect match for you
✨ Try out any hair accessories, veils, or extensions you’ll be wearing
✨ Talk through a personalised beauty prep plan so your skin and hair are glowing come wedding day
✨ Make adjustments until you love what you see in the mirror time permitting

When the big day arrives, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the morning knowing your look is already tried, tested, and perfected. Our goal? A stress-free, fun start to your wedding day where you feel completely beautiful and totally you.

Let’s make some magic happen, gorgeous!

Bridal Trials

Think of your bridal trial as the dress rehearsal for your wedding day glam. It’s your chance to see your chosen look in action, make any adjustments, and walk away knowing that on the big day, everything will be perfect.

To get the most out of your trial:

  • Wear something in a similar colour or neckline to your wedding dress so you can see the full effect.
  • Bring along any hair accessories, veils, or extensions you plan to wear.
  • Save photos of makeup and hairstyle inspiration on your phone to share with us.
  • If you’re planning on a spray tan, we recommend having one for the trial too as it’s the best way to see the colours and tones in context.
  • For the best experience, we suggest coming alone. Too many outside opinions can be overwhelming for both you and your stylist, and this appointment is about your vision, not anyone else’s.
  • We also ask that small children are left at home — not just so you can fully focus, but also for safety reasons in a working studio environment.

We’ll also chat about a personalised beauty plan to help get your skin and hair in the best possible condition for your wedding. From facials to hair treatments, we’ll give you tailored advice so you’ll be glowing from every angle.

Your trial will take around 2 hours for both hair and makeup, and we want you to leave absolutely in love with your look.

Hair and Makeup Trial Preparation

How To Prepare For A Trial
Your bridal trial is the perfect opportunity to fine-tune your wedding day look. To get the most out of your appointment, please follow the guidelines below.

What to Bring
Accessories & Details: Bring any hair jewellery, veils, or fabric swatches you’d like us to consider.
Outfit: If your dress is white, wear a white top with a similar neckline to replicate the effect.
-Inspiration: Please review our website and social media beforehand. The work you see there reflects our aesthetic, so choose inspiration images that align with this style.

How To Prepare For A Trial
Your bridal trial is the perfect opportunity to fine-tune your wedding day look. To get the most out of your appointment, please follow the guidelines below.

  • Wash your hair the evening before, avoiding heavy leave-in conditioner.
  • If you have oily hair, you may wash it the morning of your trial — just ensure it is completely dry.
  • Naturally curly or afro hair: apply your usual soothing balm or anti-frizz lotion and finger-section your curls while wet. Please avoid hard gels.
  • If you plan to wear clip-in or permanent extensions on your wedding day, bring or have them applied before your trial.
  • Exfoliate, cleanse, and moisturise before leaving home for your trial. Dry or flaky skin prevents foundation from sitting smoothly.
  • If you’re considering a spray tan, schedule a trial tan 48 hours before your hair and makeup trial to test colour and finish.
  • Avoid heavy lash extensions (e.g., full Russian volume). We will apply custom false lashes during your trial. Light classic or hybrid sets are acceptable.
  • Please skip lash lifts or perms, as they make applying false lashes difficult.
  • Schedule facial treatments, waxing, threading, tinting, or brow lamination 5–7 days before your trial to avoid any last-minute skin reactions.

Allergies & Sensitivities

Please inform your stylist of any sensitivities or allergies. In some cases, we may recommend you bring your own moisturiser, foundation, or mascara for comfort and safety.

Pricing & Timing

  • Trial: $320 (payable on the day).
  • Duration: Approximately 2 hours, depending on the chosen style.
  • Postponements: 72 hours’ notice is required. Late cancellations or reschedules will still be charged in full, as all appointments are carefully pre-planned.

Touch-Ups & Aftercare

During your trial, we’ll advise on the best way to maintain your look for your wedding day.
To keep your makeup flawless through tears, hugs, and kisses, you’ll need a powder and lipstick for touch-ups.

We offer a Hollywood Touch-Up Kit (special deal available only at some Salon locations), or you may bring your own favourite lipstick.

Important Notes

  • For the best trial experience, we recommend attending alone. Too many opinions can be overwhelming and may take the focus away from your vision.
  • Please leave young children at home, both for your focus and for safety reasons in a working studio environment.
  • Stylists reserve the right to refuse service if a client presents with conjunctivitis, head lice, or severe cold sores. Disposable applicators may be used at the stylist’s discretion where appropriate.
